Laguna Presbyterian Church (LPC) is a Reformed Protestant congregation affiliated with the Presbyterian Church USA. Presbyterians trace their history to the Protestant Reformation of the 16th century. Today, the Presbyterian Church remains true to its early roots while being relevant to today’s world.
What is LPC’s Mission Statement?
In response to God’s love, we are called to be a Christ-centered community where people can:
- Discover who God is and the depth of Christ’s love,
- Develop individual spiritual gifts, and be equipped for ministry,
- Demonstrate love and hope in Christ to Laguna and beyond.
In this way, we glorify God.
What do Presbyterians believe?
That in life and in death we belong to God. Through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, we trust in the one triune God, the Holy One of Israel, whom alone we worship and serve. We trust in Jesus Christ, fully human, fully God. We trust in God, whom Jesus called Abba, Father. We trust in the Holy Spirit, everywhere the giver and renewer of life. In gratitude to God, empowered by the Spirit, we strive to serve Christ in our daily tasks and to live holy and joyful lives. With believers in every time and place, we rejoice that nothing in life or in death can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
What if I’m not Presbyterian?
That’s fine. Everyone is welcome, no matter what denominational affiliation.
Do I have to be a member to take communion?
No. All baptized men, women and children are invited to celebrate this sacrament. This is our Lord’s Table. Everyone is welcome.
What if I’m not a member or I’ve never been to a church?
Come on in and give us a try. More important, connect with the One who loves you and wants to know you. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
How do I learn more about Laguna Presbyterian Church?
A great place to start is our Inquirers’ Lunch. This class provides the option to consider church membership, but participation doesn’t require a commitment to join the church and provides orientation for parents who are interested in baptism for their children.
We’re looking forward to getting to know you, and we want to help you get to know us.
