All God’s people are called by the Word and Spirit to respond to God’s love revealed in the life, death and resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ. This is worship!
We believe that the living Word, the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ, comes to us, speaks to us, and is spiritually present to us through the reading of Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments; in the preaching of the Scriptures through the illumination of the Holy Spirit; and in the Sacraments of Baptism and Communion. We join with all God’s children at the family table to be made one with our Lord and to be reconciled to each other.
As a church family, we desire to embody the good news: to sing, to speak and to live out a relevant Word that speaks to our real condition and to our hopes. We believe that Jesus Christ, the One who is the same yesterday, today and forever, is a real person—God’s own son—who is involved in the world he created and who loves us specifically.
In worship, we welcome this Christ into our presence and listen to his voice in every generational style or musical taste—from classical to traditional to contemporary—that opens our hearts to his truth and love. On Sunday morning, people of all ages and artistic appreciations gather in worship that may be led by pipe organ, piano, keyboard, guitars, flute, choir and bells on any given week.
We believe that, in this musical diversity, we are one people, reconciled in Jesus Christ. We believe that the unity and the diversity of the body of Christ is God’s call for the Church. As we center our lives in the worship of God, we experience God’s great goodness and tender mercy right now. And we are aware that we are rehearsing the destiny of the whole creation.
A Place for You in LPC’s Music Ministry
There is a place for everyone to participate musically at Laguna Presbyterian Church. In each area of music ministry — Chancel Choir, Chancel Bell Choir, Praise Team, Instrumentalists, Sound Engineering — you have the opportunity to express your faith and touch the hearts of our congregation, the larger community and the world.
We hope that God will lead you to participate in one these ministries!
