Weddings at Laguna Presbyterian Church
Weddings have been taking place at Laguna Presbyterian Church for 100 years! We invite you to celebrate your Christian marriage at Laguna Presbyterian Church in South Orange County. Located in the heart of downtown Laguna Beach, just two blocks from Main Beach, our recently restored, historic Spanish Colonial Revival Sanctuary began to host weddings January 2010. Your wedding day is a day of honoring your love for one another with deep commitment and celebration, and our aim is to assure that your wedding is a memorable time of blessing, filled with reverence and joy.
We believe that “marriage is a gift God has given to all humankind for the well-being of the entire human family. For Christians, marriage is a covenant through which a man and a woman are called to live out together before God, their lives of discipleship. In a service of Christian marriage a lifelong commitment is made by a woman and a man to each other, publicly witnessed and acknowledged by the community of faith.” ~ Book of Order, Presbyterian Church USA
About Our Sanctuary
The Sanctuary dates to 1928 and provides a warm, traditional Spanish Colonial Revival ambience with its original Judson stained glass windows, interior arches, and hand-crafted wrought iron balconies and lanterns. Its focal point is a beautiful gold Celtic cross.
Dedicated to the glory of God, the Sanctuary is a dramatic and inspirational space to celebrate your Christian wedding. The church comfortably seats 350 people. Our state-of-the-art sound system ensures that the words and music chosen for your wedding will be heard and appreciated by your guests.
Testimonial of a Bride
“Our wedding experience at Laguna Presbyterian Church was perfect from start to finish. We selected the church for our wedding because of its beautiful sanctuary and location, but we appreciated the church for so much more during our whole experience. We enjoyed our pre-marital counseling sessions with the pastor where we gained important insight into ourselves as individuals and as a couple. The pastor used our counseling sessions to craft a wedding ceremony that was personal and unique, filled with love and even humor. Our guests commented on how they felt the ceremony truly reflected us as a couple. Our favorite photograph of our wedding was captured on the steps of the church. It continues to remind us of the joy of our wedding day.” ~ Ashley Good
Our Pastoral Staff and Your Wedding
Our wedding staff will help make your wedding and the beginning of your new life as husband and wife a memorable and meaningful occasion. A minister from our staff officiates at all weddings. At our pastor’s invitation, you may have a guest minister assist in the service as well.
To prepare you for the commitment of marriage, one of our pastors will meet with you for two or three pre-marital counseling sessions. This will provide you an opportunity to get to know your officiating pastor, explore the rich meaning of marriage for Christians, and gain insights into how to nourish your marriage with communication, intimacy and spirituality.
Your personal time with one of our ministers will be scheduled through the church office after your application has been accepted: Rev. Steve Sweet and Rev. Kathy Sizer. To learn more about the policies, guidelines and costs please download our wedding planner booklet.
Our church Wedding Coordinator and/or Assistant Coordinator are here to ensure that everything goes smoothly for your important day. They consult with you in your wedding planning, facilitate your wedding rehearsal and assist you before and during the ceremony.
We are happy to work with your outside wedding coordinator if you use one. To avoid confusion, the church’s Wedding Coordinator provides supervision for all aspects of the wedding on the church property.
