LPC Men’s Retreat – Oct. 11 – 13, 2019
Men of all ages are welcome to join us as we learn about how God works in our daily lives. We hope to encourage men to grow in their faith and relationships as we learn from others who are doing the very same thing.
A Snapshot of the Weekend
All men are invited to have their faith deepened, hearts strengthened and minds transformed as Rev. Chris Pritchett, who has served churches in Southern California and Washington, leads this year’s retreat. He’s experienced the joys and thrills of a playful childhood, the traumas of a deeply broken adolescence and the ongoing redemption of Christ. His passion and life commitment come from a line of Mary Oliver’s poetry: “My work is loving the world.” He’s working on his doctorate in Global Leadership from Portland Seminary and enjoys driving kids to soccer fields, surfing, hiking and contemplative practice.
The weekend begins with Friday night dinner at the main house, followed by a group discussion led by Rev. Pritchett. Saturday includes worship, discussions and afternoon is set aside for optional activities including hiking, walking in the village, biking, reading, napping, playing cards, various field games on the nearby grassy knoll, and fishing (supply your own bike and fishing gear). Sunday concludes with communion.
Registration includes a shared room for two night, two breakfasts, one lunch and two dinners, as well as retreat materials. Accommodations are homes reserved close by one another and the lake.
