When can my child participate in communion?
In the Presbyterian Church (USA), children who are baptized and instructed in the meaning of the Lord’s Supper are welcome to participate in communion. Our church does not have a formal program to prepare children for first communion. We teach children in Sunday School about communion in the 3rd grade curriculum. Parents and children are encouraged to decide together when a child is ready to participate in this sacrament. Communion is celebrated about once a month in our regular Sunday morning worship services in the sanctuary, 8:30 and 10AM.
