MINISTRY ACTIVITIES / ONLINE EVENTS
CHOIR: Join the Choir! Zoom on Thursdays, 7 p.m.
Choir Director Linda White has found ways to keep the choir singing that makes social distance seem a little closer. Weekly rehearsals via Zoom give everyone a chance to say hello and connect with friends before the singing begins. You are invited to join them 7 p.m. Thursday. Music tracks are provided so that you can sing in safety and modesty from your own home. Send an email to Linda to receive a return email with materials and a Zoom invitation. Email Linda.

The next book has been selected for Book Talk:

PRESCHOOL Virtual Story Time – Be a Story-Teller!
Laguna Presbyterian will be having a Virtual Story Time for preschoolers once a week starting the end of May. We will have a volunteer read a story book to the children on either Zoom or a video…to be decided. This will be available to the families on Wednesdays in the afternoon. The books read will be chosen by our preschool teachers. A sample video of Anne Herzog reading a story is here: https://youtu.be/K9yj5-EXy44
If you think you would like to read a story to the children, please email Judy Bell at Judy Bell. We will offer a chance to practice before the stories go out.Preschool News:

Laguna COVID-19 Relief Fund
Endorsed and supported by Laguna Presbyterian Church
Please join with others in Laguna to support this critical help for our neighbors in need! Those who labor in our restaurants and hotels, provide personal services, and serve in retail have been hard-hit by the economic downturn caused by the coronavirus — many are not eligible to receive assistance through existing government programs. In response, the Laguna Beach Community Foundation has launched an Emergency Grant program to provide financial relief to those who live or work in Laguna Beach and are most impacted by COVID-19.

About the “Fruit of the Spirit”
God gives us the fruit of the spirit to help us show others what his love looks like! As our students continue to study about the fruits of the spirit, they have learned that God uses us as his instruments to show his love to others. The fruits become qualities in us the closer we grow in our relationship with Jesus. We are covering our seventh fruit, faithfulness, this week. Only two more to go!

Text-to-Give: Text the word “GIVE” to 949-577-7567. (First-time users will be asked to create an account.)Thank you for your partnership in the ministries of Laguna Presbyterian Church!
Some fake emails have gone out that claim to be from Rev. Dr. Gareth Icenogle but are actually just “phishing” scams trying to trick people into sending cash cards, gift certificates, or other items of value to a thief.
The first message will ask for a response as soon as the email is received, and if a reply is sent, a second email goes out asking for help to purchase and send something of value to a third party. The reasons usually seem plausible — he can’t make a phone call now, he needs a favor for a good cause, he will reimburse the sender promptly. Please be assured that Pastor Gareth does not ask church members to do such favors.
If you receive such a message, you can just delete it.
If you can’t tell if it’s legitimate, you can forward it to the office for verification: firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you.
